Confessing, Believing, and Receiving by Richard Roberts
Hi, I’m Roberta Roberts Potts. Growing up as Oral Roberts’ daughter has been interesting in a lot of ways. I’ve seen a lot of people get healed. I used to sit on a chair in the crusades and watch people as they walked across the platform. Some of them would scream at the top of their lungs that they had been healed. Some of them would run off the platform and you’d never see them again, they were so excited that they got healed.
And ever since then I’ve had such a feeling in my heart to pray for people that were sick. I think sometimes that sick people are the loneliest people in the world because no one wants to touch them. It seems that when you’re sick, you’re not part of the human race any more. People don’t seem to care any more. But I want you to know something. Here at the City of Faith we do care about you. We care that you’re sick.
And did you know that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil? Sometimes when I got in the room it seems that people have a spirit of giving up, that they are just going to accept what the devil has put on them. But, you know, I don’t remember a time in the scriptures when Jesus went up to a leper and said, “Now you’re going to have to accept the leprosy.” He never did that. He said, “Be thou made whole.” And that’s what we’re expecting here at the City of Faith.
I come to the City of Faith to pray for people not because I’m Oral Roberts’ daughter, not because I’m Richard Roberts’ sister, but because I feel I have a special calling on my life to pray for people. There are so many hurting people out there. I want you to know that we love you here at the City of Faith. When you come we will pray with you and we will believe for a miracle in Jesus’ name.)
That was my sister and what Roberta said about the City of Faith is so true. The City of Faith is a place where prayer and medicine are working together and our family, the Roberts family, care about the people at the City of Faith and we take our time…. we make the time to pray for patients at the City of Faith. And Roberta is attending law school here at Oral Roberts University and, in fact, she just finished her final examinations a couple of days ago, Lindsay, and I appreciate what she’s doing and the people here at the City of Faith appreciate it too.
And I’d like to say a word to you if you have a need to come to the City of Faith. There are two telephone numbers you can call for an appointment. Now it’s very important….. Dr. Winslow was on the program the other day and he was emphasizing how important it is for a person to phone and make an appointment. Some people have just come to Tulsa and walked into the City of Faith and said, “I’m here,” and we did not have an opportunity to get the medical records and to set up an appointment and to serve you in the way that you ought to be served.
And we want to treat you right and the best way to do that is for you to call and make an appointment. The number is area code 918-495-7777. No, that’s the Abundant Life Prayer Group. It’s 493-8000 or 493-8181. I’m so used to giving the Abundant Life Prayer Group number. I’ll give you that number again in a minute but the clinic appointment numbers are 493-8181 and 493-8000. There are testimonies here that I want to share with you, Lindsay and Cheryl. Cheryl, welcome back. You’ve been out ministering in cities across the country. Welcome back.
