Richard Roberts LIVE with Guests Bill and Kim Nash Part Ninth

LR:  That shows how important things are.

RR:  Doesn’t that show you how important it is?  (Applause)

LR:  Yes.  Yes.  Amen.

RR:  Where else can you tune in where they’re, where people are praying for the sick every day.  This is important.  And I need your help.  That signal goes up and then come back down and without that little clystron–I never heard anything called a clystron before.  I

LR:  And there’s a backup.

RR:  Well, there is a backup.

LR:  They told me that the backup–this is the thing I didn’t know–that the one that is out I knew they said had about a week to either.  The backup they said would last about a month.

RR:  Well, the other one only has about a month to live or so. The miracle is that it’s lasted for six years.  The warranty–you know, we hold our equipment together with prayer, good maintenance and anointed baling wire.

LR:  Really, the truth is that this–people may laugh, but this is the truth–we pray over every piece of equipment.

RR:  Every piece of equipment.

LR:  We pray every day over the lighting.  We pray over the microphones.  We pray over the sound, that we will get the most possible use out of them, that God will bless our equipment.

RR:  Lindsay, we had cameras that were 12 years old.  The average life of a camera is eight years old.  They lasted for 12 years. Take a picture of all of our new cameras.  You, you helped us sponsor these brand-new cameras.  There they are.  Give them a handclap.  You see these brand-new cameras.  (Applause)  This past year–well, let’s see, in November, December and January I raised a project for brand-new cameras.  We don’t take advantage of things like that.  You know, maybe, well, we just don’t do that.  We used the cameras for 12 years. The average life is eight years.  We have good maintenance engineers. And, in fact, look, that’s just one of the cameras.  Those are some of the names of people.  On every camera I put the names of people who sponsored them.  I’m big on putting the, putting people’s names on things that they sponsor.  (Applause)  You can see it right there.  On all these cameras, if I took the time to show you every camera, on both sides you’d see names, names of men and women and young people who sponsored it.  Well, if you want me to, I’ll put your name on that clystron.  I’ll put your name up in that satellite room.

LR:  And we’ll do it.

Richard Roberts LIVE with Guests Bill and Kim Nash Part Eighth

LR: Amen. Amen. You’re looking at the satellite dish right now, and we really need your help. Richard, honey, I’m glad you’re back. We really need help with that. They told me when I was talking to you about it earlier, they had told me that if the thing does what they’re predicting it will do, literally we will be off the air in one week. There’s no way. Once it breaks, it’s it. That’s it, no repair, nothing.

RR: Oh, that’s it. We won’t have any signal to go up to the satellite. I only found this out yesterday afternoon.

LR: The thing that I didn’t understand, with the cameras you can always do repair work. You know, you can find a part, you can do this, you can do that. This thing either works or it doesn’t work. When it stops working, it’s dead. It’s it.

RR: That’s right. That’s right.

LR: So there is no repair. You can’t fix it. You’re either on the air or off the air. It’s like a light switch. It’s either on or it’s off, and it’s apparently on its last leg.

RR: Well, you see, Lindsay, I don’t know much about equipment. I’m not–

LR: He’s not technical.

RR: I’m not technically–that’s a picture of it, yeah, that’s a live picture of it right now. I know this much, it is a power-booster amplifier and it doesn’t look like it’s very much. You say, well how could something like that cost that much? Well, when–

LR: It’s the mechanics of it, the technology.

RR: Well, imagine taking a trip 23,000 miles up and 23,000 miles back down into your home. You know, that would be an expensive trip.

LR: It’s like the electricity, it’s the power, it’s the thing that gets us up and gets us down. It’s the power-pack.

RR: Yeah, and without it then you, they can’t–

LR: Power source.

RR: Uh huh, yeah, O.K. All right, Lord. Somebody is getting healed in your back. Somebody watching the program is receiving a healing right in the center of your back. Now here’s a perfect example, here I am talking about sending a signal up and back down into your home, to be able to have the opportunity of praying the prayer of faith for you. And right in the middle of it the Lord gives me a word of knowledge. Now isn’t that just like the Lord?

Richard Roberts LIVE with Guests Bill and Kim Nash Part Seven

LC:  Yes.  This one, we’ve reduced the parameters on this one to try and milk another month or two out of it.  But it could go out any time.

RR:  And this one is the one that’s really in serious danger.

LC:  Very serious.  One week at the most.

RR:  Well, you’ve got to have backup systems when you have television programs.  Really, to tell you the truth, I need two of them.  And $13,300 twice would be what?  $26,600.  Here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to ask 26 people to sow a seed of $1,000 each and to help me with these clystrons.    I really need to buy two.  We’ve ordered one and that will be in, but as soon as we get that one in and installed, I want to order another one. And my question to you is, will you help me?  How important is it?  Well, it’s so important that without them I cannot send the signal up to the satellite, then back down into your home.  And what that means is, if this burns out next week you will not see Richard Roberts until we get a new clystron.  And I want to be in your home on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. So, Les, would you join hands with me and I want to pray and I want to ask you to pray with me.  Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for the privilege of being on television.  And I thank You that this equipment has lasted twice as long as the warranteed life.  I praise God for that.  Now, Lord, we need two new clystron units, two new power-amplifier boosters for the satellite at $13,300 a piece.  And I seed of their faith to help me pay for it.  If you feel like giving a gift on your Master Card, your Visa or your American Express, pick up your telephone. Call the Abundant Life Prayer Group and do it immediately.  Or sit down and write me a letter today.  Don’t wait any longer than today.  Do it today.  Write me, Richard Roberts, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Richard Roberts, Toronto, Ontario.  And say, yes, Richard, I’ll be a part of helping you buy those two clystrons.  I’ve ordered one.  I want to order a second one because I want to be able to be in your home every day.  Now this is an emergency need.  I would not be presenting it to you unless it was not, unless it were not an emergency need.  Will you do it?  Will you sow a seed of $1,000 or will you sow a seed of $500 or will you sow a seed of $100 or $50 or $25?  I believe that many of you could sow a seed of $1,000 today, and you will be a great part in helping me be in your home five days a week on this television program.  Oh, I thank you for it.  Call 918-495-7777.  Sow a seed on your Master Card, Visa, American Express, Diner’s Club, or write me and send a Seed-Faith gift and say, this is to help you on that satellite equipment.  That’s all you need to say. I’ll know what you mean.  And then the money will be here when the clystron arrives next week.  Les, we’ll be able to pay for it.  Then we’ll be able to order a second one so that we’ll believe those two will last for six years.  Praise the Lord for it.  All right. Hallelujah.  Well, right now I want to bring you a special word about the upcoming Third Annual Oral Roberts Ministers Conference, July, or June 23, June 23, 24, 25.  Just watch this. It will bless you. MINISTERS CONFERENCE ROLL-IN  (Applause)

ORUS:  Singing “How Majestic Is Your Name”  (Applause)

RR’S COMMENTARY OFFER  (Applause)

RR:  I bet you wonder where I am.  Lindsay, are you out there on the television set?  (Yes, sweetheart, I’m here.)  I hope you are because I am back in the equipment area.  I’ve walked back–in fact, I’m watching myself on television- I’m back in the satellite room.  This is a very, very special room that I’m in. If you can see, it’s very small.  But without this room you would not be seeing me live via satellite right now because this is the room where the signal is sent outside to our big satellite dish and then sends it up 23,000 miles in back here in this room?  I’m here because we have an emergency Now I’m not technically minded. I don’t understand exactly.  All I know is, that these two clystrons are power-amplifiers that are the amplifiers that boost the signal to send it the 23,000 miles up into space, 23,000 miles back down into your home so you can see me.  There are two. One is on the air and the other is a backup in case there should be some kind of failure.  Can you see that?  Can you look right in there and see that?  It’s this particular unit right here that I’m talking about.  Now these units were purchased in 1980, and the warranty life on these clystrons are three years.  Well, we’ve been praying, as you know, and we pray over all of our equipment.  We lay hands on our equipment and these two pieces of equipment have lasted now for six years.  Well, we give glory to God for that.  That’s the good news.  Now the bad news is, they’ve lasted long enough.  And Les Crawford, would you come over a minute?  Les is our satellite engineer.  I don’t know if you’ve ever been on the program or not, Les.

LC:  No sir, I sure haven’t.

RR:  But, Les, I understand from you that we’re in serious danger now of these two clystrons burning up.  In fact, this one, what about this one right here, you’re not using it right now at all. What about it?

LC:  We’ll be lucky if we get another week or two out of this one. I’ve had some power supply problems and–

RR:  Didn’t you just fix a power supply problem?

LC:  Yes, I did, just yesterday we fixed this power supply, and without this as a backup, if this one went down we would be off the air.

RR:  You mean we wouldn’t be able to go up and come down and be in the person’s home right now?

LC:  No, not at all, not at all.  Without this link in the chain, we’re out.

RR:  Well, now, I just found out about this yesterday after the program was over.  And I said, “Well, I want to come in here and show you exactly where we are and what the need is.”  Now, you know, I don’t present a need unless it’s a need.  And I’m so grateful to God that these two pieces of equipment have lasted for six years, when the warranteed life is only three years.  Now that is a miracle. (Applause)  That’s a miracle and I thank God for that, Les, and I know you do too.  But I need some special help.  These clystrons each cost $13,300 a piece.  Now I need one within the next week.  I had my men yesterday afternoon to put an order in for one.  It will be here by the first of the week.  We can install it.  And now I made an order but I don’t have the $13,300 to pay for it.  I ordered it by faith. Really, to tell you the truth, I need two because, Les, if what, if I understand, you said this one is a problem by next week, but this one could be out in a month.

Richard Roberts LIVE with Guests Bill and Kim Nash Part Five

MAN: I was a little bit leary about coming in at first because I thought they were going to try to sell Jesus Christ. But this in particular has really ministered to me, especially in the last room I really enjoyed. Going through the technology of it all amazed me, but to see the down-to-earth reality of it, how it could really minister to people individually. And just going through it was exciting.

LADY: Gives you more information about how the Bible really goes and it isn’t, it doesn’t tell you like, you know, how people think it’s boring, I already know the story in the Bible. I thought it was really neat because it shows you exactly what God wants, His plan for your life, how Noah went through the ark and He obeyed His words.

LADY: Then after the flood was a very good room because it made you know that there is a new life now and that we all have new life. The end of the tour was really super because it gave everyone an opportunity if you weren’t a Christian, maybe this will be the only opportunity that some people have. They maybe don’t go to church or something, but if they go through here they will have an opportunity to know Jesus. They would have an opportunity to give their life to Christ.

LADY: I could feel the Holy Spirit through the whole thing, especially the first part of it, the creation, the vastness of everything, I mean, is what touched me the most. I’m sure it’s going to be more wonderful with each thing that’s added to it. I’m looking forward to it and believing that God’s going to bring us back here, that we’re going to see it all. I’m sure anybody, you know, that doesn’t know Christ as Savior, I mean, how they could go in and see this and know, has ever picked up a Bible and read it, realize that this isn’t anything fantasy. It’s true. I mean, myself, I believe had I not known Jesus as Savior, I would have accepted Him right there. I’m sure there’s going to be many people that’s going to be won to the Lord through this.

LADY: It’s a great place to take your loved ones. (Applause)

RR: It certainly is a great place to take your family. The Healing Outreach Center, the Journey Through the Bible in its first phase is opened Monday through Saturdays, 9-6, and Sundays 1-5. So make your way to Tulsa. If you live in the Tulsa area, come on out and tour the Healing Outreach Center and first phase of the Journey Through the Bible. I know it will be a blessing to you. Right now the Oral Roberts University Singers are going to minister a song, “How Majestic Is Your Name.” Give them a good handclap as they sing. (Applause)
