Saving Souls

 

And all of them, virtually all of them, whether they’re preachers or not, have a healing compassion in their heart.  And I thank God for Oral Roberts University.  It’s a wonderful academic institution with bachelors and masters and doctors’ degrees.  And I’m very proud that God chose you, my son, to be the president, the second president, and the second first lady after the first lady, Evelyn.

 

LR: A good example.

 

OR: I’m very proud of you, Richard and Lindsay.  I have complete confidence in you that ORU will remain the same, on the same foundation, the same honor code, the same healing emphasis, the same excellence of higher education, and educating the children of our people who believe and who have prayed for a university that was first-class all the way, and now they have Oral Roberts University.

 

RR: Stand over here by Lindsay, Lester.

 

OR: Let me say just one word to the thousands and hundreds of thousands of Partners, hundreds of thousands of Partners

 

RR: Come in here, Lindsay.

 

OR: who have made this possible?  Without you it could not have been built.  We spent over $400 million to build this whole enterprise here for the glory of God.  You provided that, and you’re providing the extra that it takes to keep it going.

 

RR: That’s right.

 

OR: Because the students can never pay as much as it takes to operate.  And I thank every Partner, every friend, whether you sent one gift or ten gifts or a hundred gifts, or if you’re still doing it.  Thank you in Christ’s name and God will multiply your seed back.

 

RR: Now Dad and Mother and Lindsay, I want one of our currently enrolled students to join us tonight in prayer as we close.

 

OR: Oh, that’s Lester Sumrall’s grandson.

 

RR: This is Dr. Lester Sumrall’s grandson

 

OR: Who was one of my best friends?

 

RR: Lester, who is a currently enrolled student at

RR: ORU.

 

OR: Dr. Lester Sumrall.

 

RR: We have lots of outstanding ministers’ children and grandchildren who have enrolled at ORU and have graduated and many who are students.  He and his cousin His cousin is on our basketball team.  And I want him to stand with us as we close tonight in prayer.

 

OR: This is the preacher boy.

 

LR: Yes.

 

OR: This is the one. Let me touch you.  Jesus, just double your healing power to flow through his ministry, the double portion of his grandfather, Lester Sumrall, and give him some of my portion in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

 

ER: Halleluiah.  Praise God.  Glory.  Halleluiah.

 

RR: Father, in the authority of the name of Jesus, we bless you and thank You for all that has been accomplished in this program.  We thank you for your healing touch in people’s lives tonight.  We lay our hands on the requests of everyone who has called in the Abundant Life Prayer Group just since we went on the air tonight. We lay our hands on them and we command the devil to take his hands off your life. Thank You, Father.  There are three generations of healing ministry right here.  There is your generation, there is my generation, there’s Lester’s generation, all of us joining together in the authority of the name of Jesus, believing for the power of God to come alive in your life.
