The Lord is my Shepherd by Lindsay Roberts

LR: in Malachi. And then I was reading like Luke 6:38 and Galatians and Philippians. If you read Philippians 4, oh, my goodness, God opened you the windows of heaven.  And it says that He pours out His riches where there is not room enough to contain them all from Malachi.

But He says, if you read Philippians, it’s according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now that’s pretty heavenly riches.

So I was thinking about all these different Scriptures, and the Lord really ministered to my heart, “You’re missing one really strong Scripture on debt and what people go through.”

And I thought, “Okay, what am I missing?”

And He said, “The 23rd Psalm.”

RR: We read it every day, don’t we?

LR: Every day

RR: We quote it every day

LR: of our lives and never have I associated it with debt. Never!  Now, what could I possibly be missing in the 23rd Psalm concerning debt. It didn’t connect.

And so I said, “Okay, let’s go back and read it again.”

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”  Well, that’s a good point.  If the Lord is your shepherd, you have no need of anything, you don’t want for anything.  I thought, “Well, that’s a good start.”

RR: Hey, that means no debt.

LR: Correct, unless you want debt, which I don’t.

RR: I don’t either.

LR: So He said, “I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures and leads me beside the still waters.” Okay, what does that sound like to you?  Rest, relaxation, letting down

RR: Peace.

LR: unwinding, peace.  People who are in debt don’t let down and they don’t unwind and they don’t have peace and they don’t lie down and cool out beside the still waters. No, they’re frustrated, they’ve got ulcers, and they’re tied up in knots.  People jump out of buildings because of debt.

Okay, let’s keep going, and this is what the Lord said to me. “He restoreth my soul.”  The Bible says that your soul is your mind, you will, and your emotions.

RR: The soulish realm, yes.  Mind, will, and emotions.

In the Beginning by Lindsay Roberts

That is the most interesting illustration of breathing out and breathing in. You can’t do just one and live. You can’t just breathe out. You have to breathe in. You can’t just breathe in. You’ve got to breathe out. You have to. And what I’ve learned from it, Lindsay, is how to make my life a seed, to get into a rhythm of sowing and reaping, of sowing and reaping, of giving and receiving, of planting and expecting God to bring the harvest in.

LR: You know, the Bible says that as long as the earth remains, there shall be seedtime and harvest.

RR: Book of Genesis.

LR: It started right from the beginning.

RR: It’s not a sideline. It’s a main line from Genesis to Revelation. The principles of sowing and reaping are from Genesis to Revelation throughout the book. You can’t find a book in the Bible where there isn’t seedtime and harvest.

LR: And, you know, the Bible also talks about that there are principles, there are laws established, God’s laws established in the earth, eternal laws that you cannot change. For example, the Bible says, day to night, winter to spring, seedtime and harvest. There’s no way to stop day from becoming night.  As a human being, you cannot stop it. How can you stop day from becoming night?

RR: How can you stop summer and winter?

LR: How can you stop summer from becoming winter?  How can you stop seedtime from becoming harvest?  It’s a principle eternal of God. If you put seed in, harvest will come.

RR: But you’ve got to expect it. When you sow your seed, Lindsay, you have a Bible right to expect God to multiply it back. You can’t just give indiscriminately and say, “Well, there it is.”  No. Focus it. Focus it against a need that you have in your life and then expect God to multiply it back.  That’s what we’ve done at ORU. That’s what we’ve done in this ministry. That’s what we’re doing in our personal lives.

LR: I’m reading right now a sermon that your dad preached about aiming your seed to defeat a need.

RR: Oh, I like that.

Giving The Word Of Knowledge by Lindsay Roberts

You strained all the muscles here.  It goes from right here in your forefinger, beyond your thumb, even up by your wrist.  You can’t move it.  You can’t lift anything.  You can’t pick anything up. You did it just recently.  You have no use of it right here in picking things up, and God’s healing you right now.  That’s a word of knowledge.  Whoever you are, examine yourself, get up and call us at 918-495-7777.

There’s also someone, Lindsay, who is receiving healing. You’ve had pain in your shoulder.  It goes all the way down your arm.  It’s just throbbing.  It’s been hurting you off and on for months, and right now, even as I’m speaking, it’s been hurting very badly.  God’s healing you right now, live, on television. Whoever you are, get up and call us.  If you need further prayer, the Abundant Life Prayer Group is ready to receive your call right now, 918-495-7777.  It’s healing night, Lindsay.

LR: A lady called in.  I’m not going to say her name because of this, but she was watching the Hour of Healing, and she said, it was the night that Cheryl and Harry were on, and she they were talking about depression.

RR: Oh, yes, earlier this week.

LR: She said for years she had been depressed, and she said she suffered because of the death of her husband.  And she had asthma and had to be put on a ventilator.  When we began to speak, she cried out to her son and yelled, “Come quickly.”

They grabbed her hands and agreed in prayer with her, with all of us.  And she said, “Something like heat hit her stomach.”  She felt it leave her body.  She got up in the morning with joy.  She’s gone all day with peace and joy, and she said she knows she is set free from depression.

RR: God is setting many, many people free these days from depression.  Lindsay, Art is calling from up in Beechwood, Ohio.  His wife, Nadine, had a very large tumor on her kidney.  The doctor said it could be cancerous.  Two days before the operation, they called the Abundant Life Prayer Group for prayer.  However, the doctor postponed the surgery until today which was yesterday.

When they went in to do the surgery, they said, “We had the best doctors because the tumor, the situation was life or death.  And the doctor said they’d never seen such a big tumor.  Now the doctor found the tumor, but it was dead.  The doctors say the malignancy was destroyed and the tumor is crushed.  The doctors were astonished.

“One of the doctors said, ‘I cannot explain it,’” but Art said, “I am rejoicing.  Thank you for prayer.  Thank you for the Abundant Life Prayer Group.”  Hallelujah!  That tumor is gone! Sue, do you have a testimony?

The Healing Evangelism by Lindsay Roberts

And I ask because I’m a Christian and a minister of the Gospel, through the name of Christ, that God will heal Tommy Scarborough.  Heal him.  In the name of Christ, the Son of the living God, put your healing hand upon Tommy and heal.  O God, release this hip. This little hip doesn’t feel like the other one.  There’s a bone sticking out.  O God, cause the flesh to grow upon it.  Free it. Release it.

Audience, with your faith, just one more time with me.  God, I ask that his little body be healed.  Tommy, you may be able to walk.  I don’t know.  I began to feel God’s power very strong. Sister, you do what you think you should with him now.

RR: Well, somebody give the Lord praise tonight.  And what God is doing, He’s still doing these days.  That is how this ministry was founded.  It was founded in the fires of healing evangelism.  And Lindsay and I are joined tonight by my dad and my mother, Oral and Evelyn Roberts, to the glory of God, who are celebrating their 50th year in the ministry.  Glory to God!  The healing ministry.  Hallelujah!  Dad and mother, welcome.

OR: Richard, sitting there watching that, I was thinking of how I held that little boy, just one person, in my arms, while there were 12,000 people seated out in front of me.  And outside with the flaps up, many thousands more.  And one thought was going through my mind other than praying for him, was, I wish I could take that whole crowd in my arms.  But I had to take them one person at a time.

And then I thought as I watched you and Lindsay tonight that in homes across this nation, there are not 12,000 people in that home or 20,000, but maybe one, two or five or six.  And this is like an electronic tent.  You reach out and you can touch those individuals.  All those people had to wait till I prayed for this one and they had to wait for the next one, and it took sixteen days for me to get to all those people.  And you can get to these people immediately.  And you at home can receive it instantly.

I tell you, I’m so proud of you, Richard, and of Lindsay.  I appreciate the anointing of God upon you.  I appreciate the integrity and honesty of your lives.  I appreciate your being president of Oral Roberts University, that it’s in good hands.
