The spirit of excellence

richard roberts (14)

MT:  We’re located near Raleigh-Durham.  We’re in that vicinity.

RR:  About 20-30 minutes out of Raleigh.

MT:  Probably 20-30 minutes out of Raleigh.

RR:  What I wanted them to do this morning was  just  open  up  the

Bible to us and take today’s program and the next program and  just minister to us.  And, Mac, I just want to turn you and Brenda loose and just obey the Holy Spirit.

MT:  Well, we want to talk about, Richard and Lindsay, the spirit of excellence.  There is  a  demand,  not  only  from  heaven,  but there’s a demand in the earth, even from the  unbeliever,  the  one that doesn’t even call the name of Christ.  There’s a demand on now for excellence.  And we’re here at ORU where there is a canopy of excellence.  Students come here from all over the  world  and  they excel  because  of  the  anointing  of  God  and  because  of   the requirement for excellence.  And we want to talk about excellence because as we see it now with all confusion taking place,  so much darkness  in  the  earth  because  of  a  lack  of  knowledge,  the expectancy that God has.  I believe God is requiring a cleaning up in basically four different houses.   House   number one is yourself, myself.   I think that God is putting  pressure  on individuals to … for us to hear his voice clearly, to get sin out of our life, and to lay aside every weight.  See, there are still some things in my life that I can’t take with me to heaven.

Supernatural Peace

DSC_0286

Before Jesus went to heaven, He comforted His disciples with these words: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27 NKJV).  Jesus went to the Cross so we could be have peace.  Philippians 4:7 NKJV says, The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God’s peace can sustain you.  He can give you a supernatural peace in the midst of any storm or struggle you might face.  That peace is Jesus Christ.  No matter what comes or what goes, what’s up or what’s down, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  And He said He would never leave you (see Hebrews 13:5).

Paul stated in Romans 8:34 that Christ went to heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father and makes intercession for us.  He said, “I will not leave you comfortless.  I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever (John 14:16 AMP).

Jesus’ death on the Cross didn’t end His relationship with us.  He fulfilled everything His Father said so that we could be healed from the crowns of our heads to the soles of our feet, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.  Some people see the Cross as Christ’s death and burial.  We need to always remember that because of the Cross, there was the Resurrection, and we have Jesus’ promise, Because I live, you will live also (John 14:19 AMP).

Jesus didn’t die.  He lives forever.  He is always with us to bring peace and wholeness to our lives.

How God Uses His Faith

DSC_2280_2

Mark 11:22 says, Have faith in God, or another translation says, Have faith like God has faith.  How does God have faith?  How does He use His faith?  Romans 4:17 says that He calls those things which be not as though they were.”

God made the world out of absolutely nothing—before that, there wasn’t a man, or Eden, or even an earth.  And God called all those things that were not as though they were.  It all existed in His faith.  It was just as real to Him as if it was already here.

I try to comprehend these things so I can bring them down to where I’m living.  There are things I must have in order to obey God, but I can only get them by faith—or by calling them as though they are.  That’s what God does.

I am a product of that.  Before I ever was, God called my spirit into being.  Three months before I was born, my mother made a vow to Him.  While she was going to pray for a little child with pneumonia who was not expected to live through the night, she told God, “If You’ll heal this little boy tonight, then when my baby son is born, I’ll give him to You.  I want him to be a preacher for You.”

I was born a stutterer, but she always said, “Some day you will preach the Gospel.” I said, “Mama, I can’t even talk.”  But she saw it and called by her faith that which was not.

What is it in your life today that is “not?”  It’s in your dreams and in your heart, but it doesn’t exist.  There’s no other way to bring it into existence except to call it by faith, using your faith like God uses His.  Oral Roberts.

Dealing With Fear

DSC_0190

Every one of us has had an occasion to be afraid of something for some reason.  But if you look at circumstances, you’re sunk, because circumstances can get you into a spirit of fear.  You can be afraid of riding in a car or airplane, or of slipping and falling in a bathtub.  If you’ve known someone who fell down a flight of stairs and died, you can be fearful of ever going down stairs again.  If you’ve lost a child, like my husband Richard and I have, you can fear losing another child.  Whenever you have had a frightening experience, the spirit of fear can come in through that weakness and attach itself to you.

If we focus on the incident, which may be horrific, we have good reason circumstantially to live in fear.  But if we look at the whole scope of the Bible, we see that God has not given us the spirit of fear that causes us to be afraid of circumstances!  Second Timothy 1:7 says, God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  That Scripture tells us that there is a spirit of fear, but it’s not from God!

Look what God has given us.  He has given us three counterbalancing measures to the spirit of fear:  the spirit of power, the spirit of love, and the spirit of a sound mind.  Power to take authority over the spirit of fear.  Love—the perfect love of God—which is totally complete and which casts out all fear (I John 4:18).  And last, a sound mind.

Have you ever tried to make a logical decision when you felt as though you were going crazy from fear?  Those kinds of decisions are of no value.  God has given you a sound mind to help you operate rationally, logically, and practically in times of trouble.  He has given you everything you need to have victory over fear!

Obedient to the word of God

So I pray for you, not only as the Abundant Life Prayer Group will pray, but remember what Richard said earlier.  Once they get those phone calls, they bring all that to Richard.  Richard loves to pray.  I love to pray.  And I believe in the power of prayer.  So I pray for you right now, according to the word and the will of God.  I pray for God to touch you in every area of your life.  If you’re a seed sower, remind the Lord, and remind the devil.  Devil, I’m a tither.  Devil, I’m a seed sower.  And God promised that as I’m a tither, he would open me the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing where there’s not room enough to receive it.

Not only does the bible say remind God of his promises, remind the devil.  Tell the devil, take your hands off me, I’m God’s property.  I pray for you to be healed as the bible says.  And I pray for every area of your life, spirit, soul, body, your finances, your family, on the job.  Whatever it is that you need healing.  God said, when you bring in tithe and offering, he would rebuke the devourer for your sake.

RR:       That’s right.

LR:       I pray that as you’re obedient to the word of God, satan is rebuked in your life, in Jesus name.

RR:       Lindsay, I pray over Dorothy in Ridgeway, Illinois.  She’s called in a prayer request concerning her eyes and other needs.  Dorothy, we send the word to you for healing right now, in Jesus name.  Dorothy, there’s not distance in prayer.

Shalima in Yonkers, New York, I’m praying over your daughter, a special prayer request, Lindsay.  I’m praying over her right now, and I send the word to you in Yonkers for your daughter to be healed.  And Diane up in the Bronx in New York City, calling for an employment situation.  Diane, I set my faith with you right now in Jesus name for healing.  Others of you, you’d like us to pray over you, call that number, 9-1-8-4-9-5-7-7-7-7.  Ann has called all the way from Merseyside in England, the United Kingdom.  Has a need of healing.  Ann, there’s no distance in prayer.  Our program is seen in the United Kingdom.  In Jesus name, I send the word across the ocean, and I pray for God’s healing touch on your life in the authority of Jesus name.
